  Gamble Alert is an independent Nigerian non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible gambling, preventing underage play, and providing clinical treatment support for individuals affected by gambling addiction. Registered as Awareness on Gambling Risk Initiative with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (Registration Number 160570), it was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Operating as a systems-response body for gambling harm across Africa, the organisation combines prevention, research, and treatment services and is funded exclusively through a voluntary donation system from the gambling industry. Its initiatives include a national clinical helpline offering 24/7 confidential support, school-based prevention programmes reaching over 3,000 secondary school students directly, and operator training for early risk identification. In 2025, Gamble Alert provided structured support to 356 individuals with a 74% treatment completion rate and convened Nigeria’s first Responsible Gaming Symposium, establishing a national benchmark for stakeholder collaboration. The organisation is licensed under the Nigeria Data Protection Commission and adheres to professional counselling ethical guidelines, and is recognised by regulators and operators as the leading voice for player protection and safe gaming in Nigeria, with growing influence across West Africa.

  Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming

  The Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR) is an industry association founded in March 2023 that brings together the leading sports betting and online gaming operators authorized to operate in Brazil. Representing approximately 75% of the country’s regulated market, the institute acts as a collective voice for licensed operators, advocating for a safe, transparent, and sustainable betting ecosystem. Its core mission is to support the development of Brazil’s regulated betting market through two main pillars: combating the illegal market and promoting responsible gaming practices. IBJR works closely with federal regulators, lawmakers, and civil society to shape public policy, enforce compliance with Brazil’s gambling framework (Law No. 14,790/2023), and establish industry standards for player protection, financial education, and ethical marketing. The founding members include globally recognized operators such as bet365, Flutter, Entain, Betsson Group, Betway Group, Yolo Group, Netbet Group, KTO Group, and Rei do Pitaco. Since its launch, IBJR has expanded its membership and launched initiatives like the BetAlert verification tool and research surveys on the illegal market. In June 2026, the institute strengthened its leadership with the appointment of Carlos Lima as Executive President, while co-founder André Gelfi continues to serve as a Board Member and Director.
