Kalshi has launched a Midterms Hub offering live prediction markets for U.S. Senate, House, and Governor races, alongside polling averages and fundraising data. The platform aims to provide a market-driven alternative to traditional polling, with CEO Tarek Mansour highlighting its resistance to political bias.
Kalshi has rolled out a dedicated platform section called the Midterms Hub, providing real-time prediction markets for the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. The hub displays current odds for Senate, House, and Governor races, presenting them on an interactive national map.
Market-Driven Data vs. Polling
Unlike traditional opinion polls, Kalshi’s prices reflect the financial commitments of traders who put real money behind their positions. The company emphasizes that this market-based perspective differs from polling data, which records voters’ stated intentions rather than their willingness to bet on outcomes.
The hub also integrates polling averages from VoteHub, allowing users to side-by-side compare market odds with survey results. Additional features include Federal Election Commission fundraising data, historical election results, and a curated feed of campaign news and analysis.
CEO Highlights Clarity Amid Polarization
Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour described prediction markets as a tool that cuts through political bias. In a statement to CNBC, he said they "cut through polarization and show you what the wisdom of the crowds actually believes, backed by real money, not rhetoric." He noted that such clarity is rare and that the Midterms Hub delivers it. Mansour, an MIT graduate with experience at Citadel and Goldman Sachs, positioned the hub as a resource for voters, journalists, campaigns, policymakers, and researchers. Approximately 75% of platform visitors do not trade but use it solely to check current odds.
Critics, however, have warned that prediction market prices may be skewed by speculative activity or insider trading.
Building Political Presence
The Midterms Hub expands Kalshi’s political product suite ahead of the November elections. In May, the company launched the American Power Index, which it likens to an "S&P 500" for politics, tracking party momentum.
To mark the hub’s debut, Kalshi is hosting an event in Washington, D.C., featuring political strategists and live platform demonstrations. The midterm season is expected to drive significant trading volume, following patterns seen during the 2024 presidential election. Already, over $30 million has been traded on contracts related to which party will control the House and Senate in 2026.
