Global Gaming Expo (G2E) is the premier annual trade show and conference for the global legal gambling industry, produced by RX and presented by the American Gaming Association. Since its debut in 2001, G2E has served as the central hub for networking, product launches, and regulatory discourse, attracting over 25,000 gaming professionals from more than 120 countries each autumn at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. The event features approximately 400 exhibitors showcasing casino games, technology, sports betting, iGaming, lottery, and hospitality management, alongside a robust education program with over 100 sessions. G2E also offers regional editions in Asia, including Macau and the Philippines. Owned by neither a single corporation nor a standalone entity, G2E is orchestrated by RX's events team and guided strategically by the American Gaming Association, making it the most influential forum for shaping the future of legalized gambling across land-based, tribal, and digital channels.
Detailed Review
History
G2E launched in 2001 as a direct competitor to the World Gaming Congress & Expo (WGCE), following a contract dispute between the American Gaming Association and GEM Communications. The first expo was held October 1–3, 2001, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, featuring 375 exhibitors and nearly 10,000 attendees. Within six months, the AGA purchased WGCE, cementing G2E's position as North America's leading gaming exhibition. In 2010, the event moved to the Sands Expo (now The Venetian Expo), where it has remained. G2E Asia debuted in 2007 in Macau, and a Philippines edition followed in 2019.
Event Scale and Features
Attendance has grown steadily, surpassing 25,000 in 2013 and maintaining that level. The 2025 edition marked the 25th anniversary and was described as the most successful year to date, with numerous mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships announced. The show floor is organized into thematic zones including Bingo, Technology, Casino & Games, Hospitality Management, iGaming, Lottery, Marketing, and Sports Betting. Recent innovations include the iGaming Hub (2024), the Business Solutions & Tech Zone (2026), and the G2E Dealer Championship, which debuted in 2025 and will expand to include dealers from Canada and Mexico in 2026.
Education and Networking
G2E's education program is a key differentiator, drawing regulators, tribal leaders, and C-suite executives to discuss emerging topics. The Main Stage has hosted CEOs from MGM Resorts, Flutter Entertainment, and DraftKings. The event incorporates DEI initiatives through its “Convening Gaming” ethos and partners with organizations such as Global Gaming Women. A virtual platform allows attendees to preview sessions and vendors ahead of the live event. Future dates are set at The Venetian Expo through at least 2026.
