History & Founding

Betnacional was founded in 2021 by Brazilian entrepreneur João Studart, who previously co-founded the NSX Group. The brand was built specifically for the Brazilian market, offering a fully Portuguese-language interface, local payment methods, and marketing deeply tied to Brazilian football culture. In September 2024, Flutter Entertainment—parent of FanDuel, Paddy Power, and Betfair—acquired a controlling stake in NSX Group for $350 million, with a path to full ownership. Studart remained as CEO of Flutter Brazil, overseeing the merger of Betnacional with Flutter's existing Betfair Brazil brand.

Betnacional operates as a B2C online gambling operator, generating revenue through player wagering on sports and casino games. It also has a content partnership with Endorphina for slot games.
