Esportes da Sorte Group Expands Brazilian Footprint with Apostou.com Acquisition

2026-07-01

The Esportes da Sorte Group has acquired Apostou.com, along with its BETBR Loterias, B1BET, and BRBET brands, to strengthen its presence in Brazil's rapidly expanding regulated betting market. This move further solidifies Esportes da Sorte's position among the country's top operators, complementing its existing portfolio and earlier strategic acquisitions.

The Esportes da Sorte Group has announced its acquisition of Apostou.com, an operator within the Brazilian iGaming market. This strategic purchase encompasses BETBR Loterias, a company holding a license from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), along with its associated brands, B1BET and BRBET. Apostou.com is recognized for its substantial reach across Brazil, complemented by a notable physical presence in the state of Paraná.

This move is designed to bolster Esportes da Sorte's position in Brazil, which ranks as the world's fifth-largest betting market, and reaffirms the group's dedication to operating within regulated environments. The Esportes da Sorte portfolio already includes other prominent brands such as Lottu and Onabet. In 2024, prior to securing its definitive federal license, the group also acquired a controlling stake in ST Soft Desenvolvimento de Programas de Computadores Ltda., which owned another brand, also named Apostou, accredited by Loterj since 2023. This earlier acquisition provided a national presence during the interim period while awaiting federal approval, under the understanding that Loterj-licensed operations could span the country from centralized servers in Rio de Janeiro.

Esportes Gaming Brasil, the parent entity, obtained its definitive license from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting in 2025. The group currently boasts a strong market standing, with two of its three brands ranking among the top ten betting operators in the country. According to Blask's rankings for the first quarter of 2026, the Esportes da Sorte brand holds the sixth position, while Onabet is placed tenth. Betano and Bet365 currently lead the market.

Brazil's betting sector is experiencing rapid expansion, generating nearly BRL 6 billion (approximately $1.2 billion) in regulated revenue during the initial five months of 2026 alone. This revenue is largely derived from a 12% levy on operators' gross gaming revenue (GGR), alongside various corporate taxes. The burgeoning market has attracted significant interest from both domestic and international players, fueling a wave of mergers and acquisitions.

Recent M&A activity in the market includes Flutter Entertainment's acquisition of a controlling interest in Betnacional, which ranks seventh in Blask's assessments, complementing its existing Betfair operations in Brazil. Similarly, ANA Gaming, owners of the 7K, Cassino, and Vera brands, recently finalized its acquisition of Aposta Tudo, having previously integrated Donald Bet and Ponto Bet into its portfolio. The current acquisition by Esportes da Sorte is undergoing review by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), as detailed in Public Notice No. 464, and is being managed by HS Gaming Participações, a subsidiary of Esportes Gaming Brasil.
