
Dr Borut Petek is a global affairs executive and policy researcher who currently serves as Chief Global Affairs Officer at Super (Superbet Group), a Blackstone-backed entertainment and technology group operating across Europe and Latin America. In this role, he leads external affairs and government relations for the company’s regulated markets, positioning Super at the intersection of business, governance, and technology.
Alongside his corporate leadership, Dr Petek holds several concurrent appointments. He is a Partner at Hellen’s Rock Capital, a single family office, and a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee at Fortenova Group, a large Southeast European conglomerate. His academic engagements include a Visiting Policy Fellowship at the Oxford Internet Institute, where he researches platform governance, election integrity, and foreign interference.
Prior to his current roles, Dr Petek was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University’s Department of Government from 2015 to 2021, completing his PhD research on the intersection of technology, policy, and election integrity. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Office of the Prime Minister of Slovenia across two administrations and served as an Advisor to the President of the European Council. He is a member of Chatham House and has contributed to public policy formulation at both national and EU levels.
