Virginia commercial casinos report $92.1m in June revenue, up 17.3% year-on-year

Virginia's five commercial casinos generated $92.1m in June 2026 revenue, up 17.3% year-on-year, driven by two new venues. Sports betting AGR for May 2026 fell 6.8% to $63.3m.

The Virginia Lottery has released June 2026 figures for the state's five commercial casinos, showing combined revenue of $92.1 million — a 17.3% increase compared to the same month last year.

June Casino Revenue Breakdown

Caesars Virginia led all operators with $32.1 million in revenue, a 5% year-over-year gain. Rivers Casino Portsmouth, however, saw revenue slip 6.7% to approximately $24.7 million. Hard Rock Bristol contributed just over $20.9 million, down 2.4% from June 2025.

The overall uptick was boosted by two venues that were not operational in the prior-year period: The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk generated $13.5 million, while Live! Virginia added $874,287.

By game type, slot machine revenue rose 20.5% to $71.1 million, and table game revenue climbed 7.5% to $21 million.

The five casinos contributed nearly $16.6 million in total taxes to the state during June. Of that sum, $5.5 million went to host cities, $10.9 million to the Gaming Proceeds Fund, and $132,612 to the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund.

Sports Betting Update

The Virginia Lottery also reported sports wagering activity for May 2026 on July 1. Combined adjusted gross revenue (AGR) across online and retail channels was $63.3 million, down 6.8% from May 2025. Online sportsbooks accounted for the vast majority — $62.9 million, also down 6.8%. Retail sports betting revenue at the casinos totaled just $439,556, a 5.9% decrease.
