MGM Resorts President & CEO Bill Hornbuckle joins Vail Resorts' board, bringing hospitality and technology expertise to support the ski operator's strategic roadmap, while MGM also reports a strong Q2 2026 with net income jumping to $292m.

MGM Resorts International President & CEO Bill Hornbuckle has taken a seat on the board of Vail Resorts, where he will support the operator's long-term strategic plan and work to drive shareholder value. Vail Resorts, which manages over 35 ski destinations across North America, Switzerland, and Australia, now counts Hornbuckle as its 10th board member.

"I am excited to join the Vail Resorts Board of Directors," Hornbuckle said, noting his hospitality career and personal connection to mountain destinations. He emphasised his focus on using technology and digital innovation to enhance guest experiences while keeping the customer central to decision-making. "I look forward to working alongside my fellow directors and the leadership team to help the company continue creating exceptional experiences and delivering long-term value for shareholders," he added.

Hornbuckle joins existing board members Reggie Chambers, Sue Decker, Rob Katz, Iris Knobloch, Nadia Rawlinson, Hilary Schneider, Peter Vaughn, Michele Romanow, and Bruce Sewell. Katz, who also serves as Vail Resorts CEO, welcomed the appointment, stating that Hornbuckle is "an accomplished hospitality leader with deep experience operating world-class resorts, building guest loyalty and elevating service." Katz noted that the appointment comes as Vail Resorts launches its multi-year Epic Experience initiative, aimed at making the mountain journey more seamless, personalised, and memorable.
