DATA.BET head of integrations Eugene Ocheredko explains how operators can achieve fast sportsbook launches without sacrificing quality, detailing the company's integration timelines, testing automation, AI-driven productivity gains, and post-launch support standards.
In the fast-moving online gaming market, launching quickly can give operators a decisive edge. Yet many face a difficult choice between rapid deployment and dependable performance. Eugene Ocheredko, head of integrations at DATA.BET, argues that operators no longer have to accept this compromise and outlines the steps needed to achieve both.
The industry is forecast to expand 11% in 2026 alone, intensifying the pressure on operators to act fast. According to Ocheredko, speed is valuable, but when every decision is driven by it, other critical elements — such as payment provider testing — can be neglected, leading to problems at launch.
Striking the right balance is possible, says Ocheredko. DATA.BET delivers Single Page Application (iFrame) integrations in one to two weeks, while API integrations covering odds feeds and risk management take roughly one month. Clients range from small sportsbooks seeking an iFrame to casino operators adding sports betting, to large platform providers wanting standalone products like widgets or odds feeds.
Ocheredko notes that the value of speed depends on the operator's size. Smaller operators still have numerous other pre-launch hurdles, so a fast integration alone doesn't guarantee a quick go-live. For larger operators with significant existing traffic, however, delays directly translate into lost revenue.
Trust and collaboration are foundational to successful quick launches, Ocheredko stresses. DATA.BET avoids a "fire and forget" approach, instead fostering relationships before contracts are signed, often by meeting potential clients in person at industry events like iGB L!VE. Once agreed, a dedicated communication channel — usually Slack or Teams — is set up for daily interactions.
A single technical point of contact leads each integration. Ocheredko warns that having a non-technical leader is a major mistake. Rather than building every requested feature, the team probes the underlying need, often finding an existing solution. "We believe innovation means anticipating market needs rather than simply responding to them," he says. This approach led DATA.BET to develop Pitch Tracker — a 2D map for esports betting — and to evolve client-specific widgets into popular portfolio products.
Comprehensive testing is non-negotiable. DATA.BET's QA team refuses to let a client go live without a full end-to-end check. Increasingly, this process is automated. "What used to take our team an entire day now takes around 20 seconds to run through an automated pipeline," Ocheredko notes. AI tools have boosted engineer productivity five- to tenfold, and also help managers monitor KPIs.
Ocheredko expects API integration timelines to shrink further, possibly to around two weeks. Faster integrations also benefit DATA.BET's own capacity, as the team handles multiple integrations simultaneously. He highlights that hiring and onboarding new staff is slow, making process improvement critical.
On team structure, Ocheredko believes once a team exceeds eight people per manager, communication and quality suffer. DATA.BET's relatively small team reviews every ongoing integration in daily meetings, staying close to each project.
Post-launch support is equally important. DATA.BET's average response time to a client issue is 105 seconds, with average resolution in two hours and 16 minutes. "We always communicate with our clients – and this is the core of our approach on a par with unique and personalised offerings," Ocheredko says. Trading and technical teams operate 24/7.
In an industry where bold integration claims are common, Ocheredko advises scepticism. "There's marketing, and then there's reality," he says. Reputation and proven results are what ultimately win clients.
