Brazil to Receive Weekly Lists of Unlicensed Betting Sites Under New Agreement

Brazil's consumer protection agency will receive weekly reports covering about 700 illegal betting sites from the self-regulatory advertising body, while new data shows a surge in self-exclusion enrollments and a major asset freeze in Paraíba.
Brazil's National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) will now obtain weekly intelligence on roughly 700 illegal betting platforms identified and removed by the National Advertising Self-Regulation Council (Conar). The arrangement, announced by National Consumer Secretary Ricardo Morishita, also gives Senacon access to advertising campaign data linked to those sites, enabling a more precise enforcement strategy.
"We estimate that, through this cooperation, we will receive weekly reports on around 700 illegal bets identified and taken down by Conar," Morishita said. The partnership is part of a broader federal effort to tighten control over Brazil's sports betting market and clamp down on promotion of unregulated operators. The data is expected to fuel investigations and administrative penalties against firms violating sector rules.
Broader enforcement moves
Separately, Brazil's Finance Ministry reported that 925,000 individuals have now enrolled in the national self-exclusion program, a sharp increase from roughly 600,000 in June. In the state of Paraíba, a joint operation by the Public Prosecutor's Office, Civil Police, and the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting froze more than R$102 million ($20 million) in assets tied to an unlicensed gambling network.
