Boomer's Sportsbook expands to Four Queens and Binion's as Nevada approvals advance

Boomer's Sportsbook arrives on Fremont Street

Boomer's Sportsbook is set to open at Four Queens Hotel & Casino and Binion's Gambling Hall in downtown Las Vegas, with both locations slated to debut on Sept. 1 in time for the NFL season. The launches remain subject to final approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission later this month, after the Gaming Control Board cleared the applications on Wednesday.

The Four Queens sportsbook will be relocated and expanded, with CEO Joe Asher telling regulators the new space will be about 125 to 150 square feet larger and feature improved viewing and seating. At Binion's, the sportsbook will stay in its current spot and be rebranded under the Boomer's name. Asher noted he was especially excited about these applications, recalling that Binion's was one of the places he visited when first learning the sports betting business before founding Brandywine Bookmaking in 2007.

Network growth and competitive pricing

The two properties are the 17th and 18th Boomer's locations approved by Nevada regulators, and the company is targeting at least 20 sites in the coming months. Boomer's has built its model around a statewide network of smaller casino partners, positioning itself as an independent alternative to larger operators such as BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, Boyd Gaming and Circa Sports. Asher said the operator will keep focusing on price competitiveness, including reintroducing reduced -105 pricing on all NFL games.

Boomer's is also seeking approval to install deposit kiosks at restricted locations owned by Four Queens and Binion's owner Terry Caudill, including Chicago Brewing Company, McGill's and SkinnyFATS. Asher previously spent just under nine years as CEO of William Hill US and has been involved in the nationwide expansion of legal sports betting for nearly three decades. In April, the company opened its ninth location at The Pass Casino in Henderson, Nevada.

Other approvals at the same meeting

The Gaming Control Board hearing also included several unrelated items. Circa Hospitality Group won approval for a refinancing package built around a $290 million senior secured credit facility, comprising a $190 million revolving credit line and a $100 million term loan. CFO Susan Hitch said the deal reduces required principal payments while keeping current rates in place, allowing Circa to invest more cash in the business. Circa also expects to finish 49 new hotel rooms on the top two floors this month; seven floors had been left unfinished when the resort opened, with four completed in 2024 and now two more coming online. Circa Sports recently received a temporary license in Arizona, adding to its existing operations in Missouri, Iowa, Colorado, Kentucky and Illinois. Hitch acknowledged that prediction markets are having an impact on the sportsbook business, while attorney Kate Lowenhar-Fisher called them "an existential threat to regulated gaming."

The board also approved executive licensing applications for Park MGM SVP and GM Andy Meese, Wynn Las Vegas CFO Robert Amerine, and Circus Circus LV VP Michelle Ruffin-Stein. Meese reported Park MGM ran at 93 percent occupancy in the first half of the year, Amerine described a "very healthy first half" for Wynn Las Vegas, and Ruffin-Stein, daughter of Circus Circus owner Phil Ruffin, continues as GM of the Wichita Marriott.
