Slotegrator COO Olga Ivanchik argues that while rapid market entry is crucial in iGaming, long-term success depends on flexibility, localisation, and continuous testing—enabled by tools that minimise reliance on external development teams.

In a recent analysis, Slotegrator COO Olga Ivanchik argued that while rapid market entry remains a decisive advantage in new iGaming jurisdictions, operators who fail to prioritise adaptability after launch risk losing their foothold. The company has cut its own time-to-market to two weeks or less—far below the industry norm of at least a month—but Ivanchik insists that speed alone is not a sustainable strategy.

The value of real-time adaptability

Newly regulated markets are intensely competitive, where a single day can feel like a week as rivals jostle for share. However, rushing in can mean overlooking hidden risks. Ivanchik points to Brazil, where President Lula recently revived the possibility of banning iGaming, illustrating how regulatory landscapes can shift without warning. To survive such volatility, operators must build platforms that can pivot quickly—a capability that requires intuition and the right tools for making decisions under uncertainty.

Frontend design as the first retention lever

A well-structured home page is critical for converting visitors into players. Promotions, seasonal offers and rotating game highlights should be prominent, along with engagement tools such as quests, loyalty tiers, wheels of fortune and loot boxes. Yet not every mechanic resonates equally across markets. Localisation demands ongoing tuning: a campaign that fails to land or a sudden trend may require immediate adjustment. Ivanchik notes that cultural moments—like national holidays in Latin America—can be turned into marketing opportunities if the platform is flexible enough to act on them.

Testing and the development bottleneck

To refine layouts without excessive trial-and-error, Ivanchik recommends A/B testing: create multiple lobby versions, split traffic, and compare performance. But constant tweaking runs into a common bottleneck—back-and-forth with a development team, which incurs time and cost, and where miscommunication can produce suboptimal results. Slotegrator’s solution is to eliminate the middleman by offering adjustable preset templates that let operators make frontend changes on their own.

The X factor

Just as slot developers cannot predict which game will become a hit, operators cannot foresee which retention scheme will resonate most. Ivanchik argues that careful planning is essential but must leave room for an “X factor”—unexpected opportunities that demand real-time adaptation. The right technology partner, she says, should enable operators to act on those moments rapidly. “

Speed gets you there. Flexibility keeps you going,” she concludes.
