History & Development

WynnBET represents Wynn Resorts' entry into the digital sports betting and iGaming arena. The brand was created as part of Wynn Interactive Ltd, a subsidiary that the parent company spun out to capitalise on the post-PASPA US sports betting boom. Wynn Resorts had operated a celebrated retail sportsbook at its Las Vegas Strip properties since 2005. In 2020, it launched WynnBET as a mobile-first platform, initially available in New Jersey and Colorado. The company quickly expanded through market-access agreements with land-based casinos and by securing licences in multiple states. In 2021, Wynn Resorts announced a plan to spin off Wynn Interactive into a separate publicly traded company via a merger with Austerlitz Acquisition Corp., a SPAC backed by Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley. That transaction was later shelved, and Wynn Interactive remained a wholly owned subsidiary.

WynnBET Sportsbook – A mobile app offering pre-match and live betting across major US sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA, etc.), with competitive odds, parlays, and same-game parlays. WynnBET Casino – An online casino featuring slots, table games (blackjack, roulette), and live dealer games, with content from both proprietary and third-party suppliers. Wynn Rewards Integration – Players earn Tier Credits and COMPDOLLARS that can be redeemed for both online play and on-property experiences at Wynn/Encore resorts, creating a unique omnichannel loyalty loop.

Market Position & Partnerships

At its peak, WynnBET held significant market access in over a dozen states. It partnered with media and technology companies such as Minute Media for content and influencer marketing, Paysafe for payment processing and affiliate marketing, and Cumulus Media for multi-platform audio and digital advertising. Sports team sponsorships included the New York Jets and Detroit Lions. The platform also leveraged the expertise of two co-founders of bwin Interactive Entertainment, who joined Wynn Interactive to lead product development.

Current Status

By early 2024, WynnBET had ceased mobile operations in all states except Nevada. Its temporary Category 3 sports wagering licence in Massachusetts was not renewed, and it delisted from the Massachusetts sports wagering market as of February 23, 2024. The company’s FAQ confirms the shutdowns were “for commercial reasons.” Today, WynnBET focuses on its Nevada online and retail sportsbook, as well as retail sports betting at Encore Boston Harbor. The brand continues to operate its website and customer support, with no announced plans for re-expansion.
