Singular (later Flutter International)

History and Founding

Singular was established in 2009 in St Julian’s, Malta, as a specialised B2B provider of iGaming technology. The company focused on delivering a comprehensive platform that could be customised for operators across multiple verticals, including sportsbook, casino, and poker. Its modular, multi-tenant architecture allowed clients to launch and manage their offerings under a single integrated system, while robust APIs enabled rapid integration of third-party content. Before its acquisition, Singular had built a strong presence in Central and Eastern Europe, partnering with innovative brands and gaining a reputation for high performance and low latency.

Acquisition by Flutter Entertainment

In September 2021, Flutter Entertainment acquired Singular in an all-share deal, valuing the company as a strategic asset. Flutter, already the world’s largest online betting operator, aimed to bring critical platform technology in-house, reduce reliance on third-party suppliers, and accelerate product innovation across its international portfolio. The acquisition was followed by a gradual rebranding, with Singular’s brand being phased out as the unit was reorganised under Flutter CEE. The platform now serves as the backbone for several Flutter brands in the region, including Adjarabet in Georgia, supporting omni-channel delivery that seamlessly connects online and retail betting.

Products and Platform

The core product is the Singular iGaming Platform, a modular suite covering sportsbook, casino, poker, and omni-channel solutions. It features a library of over 5,000 games, scalable architecture, and comprehensive API access. The company also offers omni-channel solutions enabling unified experiences across digital and physical channels, as well as managed services and turnkey solutions including platform hosting, regulatory compliance support, and operational services. These products continue to power Flutter’s international operations post-acquisition.

Current Status and Leadership

Singular no longer exists as a separate legal entity; its employees and technology are fully integrated into Flutter CEE, part of Flutter International. Key leadership overseeing the former Singular operations includes Dan Taylor as President and CEO of Flutter International and Phil Bishop as Chief Operating Officer of Flutter. A senior director from Flutter International was appointed as managing director of the Singular B2B division in 2023, though their name is not publicly confirmed. The development centres in Malta, North Macedonia, and Georgia remain active, employing an estimated 201–500 people.

Market Position and Legacy

Singular’s technology remains central to Flutter’s strategy in Central and Eastern Europe, where its platform supports high-volume, low-latency operations. While the distinct corporate identity has been subsumed, the legacy of Singular’s scalable, modular platform continues to underpin a significant portion of Flutter’s international business.
