History and Founding

Seneca Gaming Corporation (SGC) was chartered by the Seneca Nation of Indians in August 2002, shortly after the Nation signed a gaming compact with New York State. The corporation opened its first casino, Seneca Niagara Casino, later that year and rapidly expanded into an integrated resort operator. The founding location was Niagara Falls, New York, where SGC remains headquartered today. The enterprise was created to develop, operate, and finance the Nation's Class III gaming operations, and it has since become a cornerstone of the Seneca Nation's economic self-sufficiency.

Properties and Brands

SGC owns and operates three distinct gaming destinations. Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is a AAA Four-Diamond hotel with 604 rooms, a full-service casino, spa, multiple dining outlets, and an entertainment venue. Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca features a 212-room hotel, casino, and the award-winning Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course, a championship 18-hole layout. Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino is a downtown Buffalo facility offering slot machines and electronic table games. The umbrella brand "Seneca Resorts & Casinos" markets all properties collectively.

Technology and Partnerships

Over the past two years, SGC has pursued significant modernization. A multi-phase $40 million renovation at Seneca Niagara upgraded guest rooms, public spaces, and gaming areas. In 2025, SGC partnered with Kambi Group to power a regulated sportsbook across its three properties, marking a major entry into sports betting. The corporation also deployed Gaming Analytics’ AI platform to optimize casino floor performance and introduced a mobile guest journey using Zaplox, allowing guests to use mobile keys and streamline their on-site experience. These technology partnerships are designed to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Community and Sports Partnerships

SGC is deeply embedded in the Western New York sports ecosystem. In 2025, the corporation signed a founding partnership with the Buffalo Bills for the new Highmark Stadium, set to open in 2026. Leadership and Governance

In November 2020, Kevin Nephew, an enrolled Seneca Nation member (Wolf Clan), became the first tribal-member President and CEO of SGC. He had joined the corporation in 2014. In March 2025, Kimberlee Dunlop, also an enrolled Seneca Nation member (Snipe Clan) and former Counsel to the Board, was named Chief Operating Officer. Garth Anderson serves as Vice President of Financial Accounting, Reporting & Treasury and Interim CFO, while James Domzalski holds the role of Chief Legal Officer. The Board of Directors is chaired by Allie George. No Chief Technology Officer or Chief Commercial Officer have been publicly identified.

Economic Impact and Employment

With an estimated 3,500–4,000 team members, SGC is one of the largest private-sector employers in Western New York. The corporation does not publicly report revenue, but it is a primary economic driver for the Seneca Nation, funding government services, education, and infrastructure. The workforce includes a mix of casino, hotel, food and beverage, and administrative staff across its three properties.
