Vusi Mtsweni

Vusi Mtsweni is the Chief Executive Officer of the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER), the body responsible for licensing and regulating gambling, liquor, and other economic activities in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. He is recognised for advocating progressive regulatory reform, responsible gaming, and the use of data‑driven oversight to balance industry innovation with public trust.

In March 2026, Mtsweni was inducted into the Hall of Game Africa by the SiGMA Group for his leadership in African gaming regulation. He holds a qualification from the University of South Africa and has spoken at industry events such as the SiGMA Africa summit and the Gaming Tech Summit Africa 2026.
