
Tom Light is an Israeli-born sports-betting executive who moved to Bulgaria in 2013. Over more than a decade, he has built sportsbook and trading platforms used by some of the world's largest betting operators and was part of the early evolution of live betting, helping shape core mechanics now standard across the industry.
He founded FIRST.bet (FIRST – Best in Sports), a tier‑one sportsbook software provider headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria. Under his leadership as Founder and CEO, the company has grown to more than 500 employees with major operations in Sofia and Plovdiv. FIRST.bet delivers a full sportsbook engine built for speed, scalability, real‑time performance, dynamic pricing and risk management.
The company has won multiple industry awards, including Sportsbook Platform of the Year at the SBC Awards and Sports Betting Supplier of the Year at the EGR Awards 2026. Light himself received an Individual Achievement Award at the EGR Awards 2026 and was named to the Emerging Leaders of Gaming 40 Under 40 Class of 2026. He previously worked at SBTech alongside Ian Bradley, now Co‑CEO of FIRST.bet.
