Sonia Prashar
Secretary General of the Federation of European Business in India (FEBI) and Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India
Sonia Prashar is a seasoned executive with over three decades of experience in Indo-European trade relations. She currently serves as Secretary General of the Federation of European Business in India (FEBI) and as Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India, the Indian subsidiary of the German trade fair organiser. Her work in these roles places her at the intersection of European business interests in India and major B2B exhibitions, including events that touch the iGaming sector.
Born in Delhi as the second of five sisters, Prashar holds a degree in Science and Education from Delhi University and an MBA from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She began her career in Indo-German relations and spent approximately 28 years at the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), eventually rising to the position of Deputy Director General. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the Order of Merit of Germany.
In 2015, she became the founding Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India, where she has overseen the growth of major industrial exhibitions such as INDIAWOOD and embedded world India. Since May 2021, she has also been President of the Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA). A self-described "crazy eternal optimist," she is known for her mantra "Enjoy what you do" and actively mentors young professionals in the events industry.
