Sean Patrick Maloney

Sean Patrick Maloney is the President and CEO of the Coalition for Prediction Markets, an industry group representing federally regulated prediction‑market platforms. In this role, he leads federal lobbying and education efforts, positioning himself at the heart of the regulatory debate over whether prediction markets constitute gambling—a core issue for the iGaming and gambling industry.

Maloney served five terms as a U.S. Representative for New York’s 18th congressional district from 2013 to 2023, and chaired the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) from 2021 to 2023. His congressional tenure included work on financial services and technology policy, shaping his later focus on prediction market regulation.

Following his time in Congress, Maloney was appointed U.S. Ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD) from April 2024 to January 2025. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis and served as White House Staff Secretary under President Bill Clinton from 1999 to 2000.
