
Scott Vanderwel is the Chief Executive Officer of PointsBet Canada, a position he has held since August 2021. He leads the company's strategic expansion in the Canadian regulated sports-betting and iGaming market, overseeing operations, regulatory compliance, and market growth.
Before joining PointsBet, Vanderwel spent 15 years at Rogers Communications, where he rose to Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy. In that role he oversaw corporate strategy, operational improvement, and digital operations, and was instrumental in the landmark $5.2 billion NHL broadcast-rights deal in 2013.
Earlier in his career, Vanderwel led the Canadian practice of Monitor Group, a global strategy consultancy later acquired by Deloitte. He also serves as Chair of the Ivey Alumni Network Board. Vanderwel holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a degree from the same university. He is a Canadian citizen based in Toronto, Ontario.
