Scott Fitzpatrick

Scott Fitzpatrick is a Republican politician serving as the Missouri State Auditor since January 2023, with a term ending January 2027. He is running for re-election in 2026. Fitzpatrick first entered politics at age 24, serving in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019, then as Missouri State Treasurer from 2019 to 2023 before becoming Auditor.

At age 17 in 2003, Fitzpatrick began repairing docks and founded MariCorp U.S., a marine manufacturing firm that grew into one of the nation's largest dock and marina builders. He continued running the company while earning a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Missouri in 2010. He and his wife, Mallory, have three sons and reside in Cassville, Missouri.

As a state representative, Fitzpatrick introduced a bill to explicitly exclude daily fantasy sports websites from gambling regulations, arguing they are skill-based games. This legislative action connects him to the iGaming/gambling industry context relevant to this research.
