Sarah Gardner is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the UK Gambling Commission, the regulatory body for gambling in Great Britain. She stepped into the acting role from her substantive position as Deputy Chief Executive, which she had held since June 2020.
Sarah joined the Gambling Commission in 2009 and has held a number of leadership roles across the organisation. Her earlier career was as a civil servant in various government departments covering tax, international policy, consumer protection, competition, regulation, small business and enterprise policy.
In her current role, she oversees a portfolio that includes regulation of the National Lottery and the development of the corporate strategy. Her experience spans both regulatory policy and operational leadership within the gambling sector.
