Rushda Niyas
Managing Director of JAAR Law, a Colombo-based law firm advising on iGaming regulation and corporate matters in Sri Lanka.
Rushda Niyas is a Sri Lankan attorney-at-law and corporate consultant with over a decade of experience in commercial and corporate law. She is the Managing Director of JAAR Law, a firm based in Colombo that provides legal solutions to startups, growth-stage businesses, and multinational corporations. Her expertise includes contract drafting and negotiation, corporate structuring, foreign investments, due diligence, and iGaming regulatory compliance. She is also an accredited mediator.
Niyas began her legal career at the law firm Julius and Creasy before moving to the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka, where she served as Assistant Director – Legal. In that role, she provided legal services related to investment law, contract law, and arbitration. She holds an LLB (Hons) degree from Staffordshire University (UK), earned in 2012 after studying at APIIT Sri Lanka.
She is a frequent speaker at international legal and iGaming conferences, including SPiCE South Asia and LexTalk World, and has written articles on gaming regulation in Sri Lanka.
