Agenzia Dogane MonopoliRoberto Alesse serves as the Director General of Italy's Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM), the government agency responsible for customs, excise duties, and the regulation of gambling and tobacco monopolies. Appointed by the Council of Ministers, he leads an organisation of over 10,000 employees that oversees both customs operations and the licensing and control of Italy's legal gambling market, including online gaming, land-based betting, and land-based casinos.
Under his direction, ADM has pursued reforms to modernise gambling regulation, launched public tenders for iGaming concessions, and advocated for changes to the country's gambling advertising ban. Alesse also represents Italian customs at international fora such as the World Customs Organization (WCO) and cooperates with the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) on cross-border fraud prevention.
