Robert Gorodetsky

Robert Gorodetsky, a college dropout from Northbrook, Illinois, gained notoriety as a high‑stakes sports bettor under the alias Big Rob Style. He was featured in a 2017 USA Today profile that speculated he might be the future face of sports betting, but his flashy lifestyle built on luxury cars and celebrity associations was later revealed as a facade. In January 2020, Gorodetsky was charged with wire fraud and filing a false tax return for defrauding a single investor of $9.6 million between 2014 and 2018. He pleaded guilty in February 2020 and was sentenced in April 2021 to 28 months in federal prison. His public persona as a professional sports handicapper ended with his conviction, and he has no verifiable current role in the iGaming or gambling industry.
