Punit Shah

Punit Shah is the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Group, a single-family office renowned for its extensive investments in commercial real estate and hospitality. Under his leadership, Liberty Group has invested over $1.2 billion in assets, including multifamily properties, office spaces, student housing, retail developments, and a portfolio of 57 hotels comprising more than 5,000 rooms, primarily affiliated with leading brands such as Hilton, Marriott, and IHG.

Shah's career at Liberty Group spans over two decades, during which he has held various leadership roles including Vice President of Development, and President & Chief Operating Officer, before assuming the CEO position. He also spearheaded the raising of two fully discretionary real estate funds, totaling $250 million in capital. Notably, in 2017, Shah became a partner and co-owner of the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team, alongside Derek Jeter and Bruce Sherman, making him the first Indian American owner of an MLB team.

A second-generation hotelier, Punit Shah is an alumnus of the Boston University School of Hospitality, where he earned his degree in 2002. He maintains strong ties to his alma mater, serving on its Advisory Board and establishing the Punit & Carla Shah Family scholarship. He has also completed executive programs in Economics at Harvard University and in Real Estate Development & Leadership at Cornell and Emory Universities. Shah is an active member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and has served on the Global Board of Directors for the Intercontinental Hotels Group Owners Association.

Throughout his distinguished career, Shah has received numerous accolades, including the Florida Governor's Enterprise Award, multiple "Under 30" and "Under 40" awards from the Tampa Business Journal and Florida Business Review, and has been recognized as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist. In April 2026, he joined the Advisory Board of Roam Hospitality, a boutique hotel and hospitality platform, further leveraging his extensive experience in hospitality and capital markets. He also serves as a Board Member of Plutus Capital Partners and a Director of the Punit Shah Family Foundation.
