Pieter van der Does (born 1969, Amstelveen, Netherlands) is a Dutch billionaire businessman and the co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Adyen. He earned a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam in 1995, after studying at Clark University and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

His early career included roles at ING Netherlands (operational manager, 1995) and Elsevier (1996). In 1999, he co-founded Bibit Global Payment Services, where he served as Chief Commerce Officer; Bibit was acquired by Royal Bank of Scotland in 2004, after which he sat on the board until 2006.

In 2006, he co-founded Adyen alongside Arnout Schuijff. Under his leadership, Adyen grew into one of Europe’s leading fintech firms, averaging double-digit annual growth and processing over €1 trillion in payments. The company went public on Euronext Amsterdam in 2018. In 2023/2024, Ingo Uytdeagehe was appointed co-CEO. Van der Does was elected EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013.

He resides in Amsterdam with his wife and two children.
