Paul Eagland

Paul Eagland is a UK-based business advisor and former Managing Partner of BDO LLP, the UK member firm of the BDO global network. He joined BDO in 1987 as a school-leaver with no university degree, later qualifying as a tax specialist and rising through the ranks. Appointed Managing Partner in 2016, he served two four-year terms until September 2024, during which BDO more than doubled in size – from £405m to nearly £1bn revenue and from 3,000 to 8,000 people – and completed the landmark merger with Moore Stephens in 2019.

Known for his leadership of the firm’s audit practice, Eagland oversaw engagements with gaming clients such as Playtech. A vocal advocate for social mobility and flexible working, he stepped down on 30 September 2024 and now provides advisory services. He is a non-graduate who began his career with milk rounds and market-stall work in London’s East End.
