Oreste Pollicino

Full Professor of Constitutional Law and AI Regulation at Bocconi University

Oreste Pollicino is a Full Professor of Constitutional Law and AI Regulation at Bocconi University's Department of Legal Studies, where he teaches Internet Law, Constitutional Law, and Public Law. He also coordinates the LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology and holds a visiting professorship at Sciences Po in Paris.

His academic career includes visiting positions at the University of Oxford, Central European University (Budapest), University of Haifa, and University of Fribourg. Pollicino is founder and executive director of the portal MediaLaws and serves as editor of several legal journals, having authored or edited over 200 publications on internet law, data protection, blockchain, and fundamental rights.

From March to November 2021, he served as an expert for the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM) on online platform services. In 2019, he was a member of the expert group drafting Italy's national artificial intelligence strategy for the Ministry of Economic Development. He is an independent member of the Management Board of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and a member of the OECD Global Partnership on AI.

In addition to his academic and advisory roles, Pollicino holds the position of Chairman of Class Editori, a publishing group. His research and commentary focus on the constitutional dimensions of digital regulation, including the intersection of gambling regulation with fundamental rights, though he is not a professional in the iGaming sector.
