Muchanankhwaye Mpuluka

Muchanankhwaye Mpuluka is the newly appointed Director General of the Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA), the regulatory body overseeing gambling, betting, and lottery operations in Malawi. He brings extensive leadership experience from the cultural and administrative sectors.

Prior to joining MAGLA, Mpuluka served in senior roles within the Mulhako wa Alhomwe cultural organization, where he was Chief Executive Officer for 13 years and later Board Chairperson. His background includes managing large-scale cultural events, stakeholder engagement, and organizational administration.

At MAGLA, Mpuluka aims to strengthen compliance enforcement, protect consumers, and advance data-driven monitoring of gambling activities, building on recent initiatives to curb illegal gambling and promote responsible gaming practices across Malawi.
