Miguel Attard

Miguel Attard is a Malta-based executive who was appointed CEO of Gemini (Malta), the Maltese entity of the global cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, in late 2024 following Malta Financial Services Authority approval. He describes his mission as continuing to provide safe, compliant access to crypto and remains active in the Maltese fintech and iGaming regulatory ecosystem.

Attard began his career in compliance roles in Malta before spending nearly six years leading a compliance function in Dublin. He then joined Sparkasse Bank Malta plc, where he first served as Head of Compliance and AML before transitioning into Business Development and Relationship Management. In that capacity, he was a speaker at the 2025 Market Expert Insights event hosted by WH Partners, participating in a panel on gambling, crypto, and banking regulation.

His move to Gemini marks a shift from traditional banking to the crypto sector, building on his extensive background in financial compliance and relationship management. He remains a key figure in the Maltese financial services community, with a focus on bridging regulated banking and the digital asset space.
