
Matthew Browning Prince (born November 13, 1974) is an American businessman best known as the co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, a global web infrastructure and cybersecurity company. He co-founded Cloudflare in 2009 with Michelle Zatlyn and Lee Holloway, and has led the company as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board since its inception. Under Prince's leadership, Cloudflare has grown from a startup into a publicly traded company serving millions of internet properties, providing services such as content delivery, DDoS mitigation, and SSL/TLS encryption.
Before Cloudflare, Prince co-founded Unspam Technologies in 2001, where he created Project Honey Pot, an open-source anti-spam system that helped website owners track and block email harvesters. He also served as an adjunct professor teaching cyberlaw at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law from 2003 to 2009. Prince holds a BA from Trinity College (CT), a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. As of 2025, his net worth is estimated at approximately $5.5 billion, making him the wealthiest person in Utah.
