Matt Murphie

Matt Murphie is a finance and film production executive based in Limassol, Cyprus. He serves as CEO of Copper Island Films and Director at FP Markets, balancing leadership roles in both the creative and financial sectors.

Murphie built his career in finance at FP Markets, an Australian-regulated global Forex and CFD broker, where he served as Managing Director and oversaw the launch of the company’s mobile trading app in 2021. He holds a degree from Macquarie University.

Transitioning to the creative industry, Murphie founded Copper Island Films, an international film production and post-production company with roots in the US, UK, and Cyprus. Under his leadership, the company has contributed to film projects with a total production value exceeding $100 million in the past two years.

Murphie is an executive producer on several upcoming films, including Anxious People (starring Angelina Jolie) and The Walker (directed by Simon Kassianides). He is actively engaged in discussions with producers and directors about bringing more projects to Cyprus, positioning the island as a growing hub for international film production.
