Martin Husovec
Associate Professor of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
Dr Martin Husovec (pronounced Husovets or Husoveck) is an Associate Professor of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research focuses on innovation policy and digital liberties, with particular emphasis on online platform regulation, intellectual property, and freedom of expression. He is a year‑long expert on platform regulation and has trained professionals and civil servants across Europe on the Digital Services Act (DSA).
His book The Principles of the Digital Services Act (Oxford University Press, 2024) is a leading publication on the DSA, and his work has been cited by Advocate Generals at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). At LSE Law School he leads the CJEU and ECtHR Intervention Clinic and has filed multiple amicus curiae briefs before the European Court of Human Rights. He is the founder of the Platform Regulation Academy and a rapporteur of the Council of Europe’s Recommendation on Online Safety and Empowerment of Content Creators and Users.
He obtained his PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He was previously an assistant professor at Tilburg University and has advised the President of the Slovak Constitutional Court, various national ministries, and EU institutions.
