Mark Galea Salomone

Mark Galea Salomone is a Managing Associate in the Tax team at WH Partners, a Maltese law and tax advisory firm known for its work in the iGaming and gambling sector. He regularly advises international groups on complex UK, Maltese, and cross-border tax issues, with a particular focus on tax structuring, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and private wealth matters for clients that include private equity houses, multinationals, financial institutions, and technology and crypto companies.

Before joining WH Partners in late 2024, Galea Salomone served as a Tax Senior Associate with Dentons in the UK, and earlier worked in KPMG UK’s corporate tax department. He began his career as a tax lawyer at a Maltese law firm, where he earned individual recognition from Chambers and Partners as an ‘Associate to watch’ for Private Wealth Law in Malta in 2018. His corporate tax experience spans inbound and outbound investment, tax restructuring, and advising on the tax aspects of corporate finance.

Galea Salomone is dually qualified as a lawyer and a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA). He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from the London School of Economics and an LL.D. (Doctor of Laws) from the University of Malta. He has lectured the ACCA F6 Tax module (Malta variant) and delivered seminars for the Advanced Diploma in International Tax, and his written work has appeared in leading journals such as the Cahiers de droit fiscal international, the International Tax Review, and Tax Journal.

At WH Partners, his practice centers on tax advisory within Malta's gaming industry. He has publicly commented on VAT changes affecting Malta’s iGaming sector and is a regular speaker at industry events, including the SBC Summit Malta and the IFSP Conference. His dual qualifications and deep sector knowledge make him a go-to advisor for companies navigating the tax landscape of the gambling and online gaming industry.
