
Lori Kalani serves as the Chief Responsible Gaming Officer at DraftKings, a position she was appointed to in April 2024. In this inaugural role, she is responsible for the continued elevation and integration of the company's player safety and protection activities and initiatives across all DraftKings platforms and communities.
Kalani brings over two decades of experience in consumer protection law to her role. Prior to joining DraftKings, she was a partner at the Cozen O'Connor law firm, where she co-chaired the State Attorneys General practice from May 2015 to May 2024. Her career also includes serving as a partner at Dickstein Shapiro LLP from September 2012 to May 2015, and as senior counsel at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe between January 2010 and September 2012. Her extensive background spans diverse industries with complex regulatory environments, including gaming, social media, telecommunications, hospitality, and healthcare.
Kalani's commitment to responsible gaming is deeply personal; she grew up in Las Vegas and witnessed her parents struggle with gambling addiction. This experience provides her with a unique perspective on the critical importance of increasing awareness and making resources available to those who need help. She is dedicated to promoting a healthy gaming environment for all customers and is eager to partner with colleagues, regulators, industry leaders, and community advocates to further demonstrate DraftKings' commitment to responsible gaming. She earned her JD from George Mason University School of Law (2000-2003), an MBA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Business (1991-1994), and a BSBA in management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (1986-1990).
