Karin Orgeldinger

Karin Orgeldinger was born in 1967 in Welzheim, Germany. She pursued a career as a competitive fencer while studying to become a qualified sports teacher (Diplom-Sportlehrerin) at the German Sport University Cologne and earned a B‑license as a fencing coach. After her athletic career, she worked as a fencing coach, team manager, and athletic trainer for the women's national ice hockey team. She also held leadership roles in municipal tourism and hospitality with a focus on marketing.
In 2005, she joined the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), where she progressively expanded her responsibilities. From 2010 to 2014, she headed the Olympic Winter Sports division and served as Deputy Chef de Mission for the German Olympic team at the 2014 Sochi Games. In 2014, she moved to the German Ski Association (DSV), initially as Sports Director for Nordic Skiing/Biathlon. From 2017 to 2021, she was Executive Board Member for Sport and Managing Director of the DSV.
On November 1, 2021, Orgeldinger became the first woman on the executive board of Deutsche Sporthilfe, taking over the Athlete Funding portfolio. She is recognized as an experienced and well‑connected sports manager, with a focus on developing athlete support, diversity, mentoring, and dual‑career initiatives.
