Joshua Jessen is Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel of BetMGM, a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain that operates online sports betting and iGaming platforms across the United States. In this role, he oversees all legal strategy, compliance, and regulatory affairs for one of the leading operators in the rapidly expanding U.S. online gaming market.
Before joining BetMGM, Jessen was a partner in the Litigation Department of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, practicing from the firm’s Orange County and Palo Alto offices. At Gibson Dunn, he was a key member of the team that successfully represented online gambling clients in high‑profile litigation, which provided him with deep insight into the legal complexities of the iGaming industry.
Jessen earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2002 and is admitted to practice in multiple jurisdictions. He is a frequent speaker on legalized sports betting and responsible gaming, and has addressed Harvard Law School students on these topics. His expertise is widely recognized across the industry.
