Jan Řehola is the founder and director of the Institute for Gambling Regulation (IFGR), the largest professional gambling association in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, representing approximately 95% of the legal gambling market. He also serves as a partner at the law firm PS Legal, combining regulatory expertise with legal practice.
With over 15 years of experience in gambling regulation, Řehola previously led the Gambling Regulation Department at the Czech Ministry of Finance, where he shaped national policy and supervised the licensing framework. His public-sector background gives him deep insight into the intersection of law, finance, and responsible gambling.
He holds a Master of Law from Charles University and a Ph.D. focused on the financial aspects of gambling regulation. Řehola actively drives initiatives such as the IRIS system to reduce gambling-related harms and promote smart regulation. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences including HIPTHER and the Prague Gaming Summit, and publishes regularly in professional journals.
