Ismail Vali is a distinguished veteran of the iGaming industry, currently serving as the President of Gaming Compliance International (GCI). In this role, he leads GCI's AI-powered compliance and regulatory technology platform, aiming to bring transparency and control to online gaming marketplaces. His work focuses on delivering enhanced data capture, actionable intelligence, and transaction monitoring to assist governments, regulators, tribal nations, and operators in tackling the complexities of the online gaming ecosystem.

Vali is also the inventor, founder, and former CEO of Yield Sec, a regulatory intelligence platform that precisely maps out the shape of the black market in online betting, gaming, and lottery activities. Yield Sec, a product of Atropos Intelligence Inc. (a business he founded and led as CEO), utilizes advanced algorithms and AI, forged in military and anti-terrorism applications, to monitor, police, enforce, and optimize the licensed marketplace. This platform is crucial in identifying and quantifying illegal gambling operations, which he asserts pose a significant threat to revenue, taxation, and consumer protection. GCI acquired Yield Sec in November 2025, integrating its platform and team into GCI's operations.

After graduating from Brasenose College, Oxford University, with a BA and MA in Law, he began his career as an internet analyst. He later became Head of Development at Ladbrokes Interactive, where he gained early insights into the burgeoning online gambling landscape.

He truly made his name in marketing during the noughties poker boom, serving as Chief Marketing Officer for ParadisePoker, SportingBet, and PokerStars. He was instrumental in transforming PokerStars into a dominant force in online poker by focusing on internet advertising to reach customers, a then-novel approach. His extensive experience spans product development, marketing, and operations, all fueled by a commercial discipline, creative ideas, and a deep curiosity for player behavior, coupled with a dissatisfaction with the status quo.
