Herbert J. Strather was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He founded Strather & Associates in 1975, a real estate development and investment firm that has completed over $2 billion in transactions. The firm’s activities include acquisitions, development, investment, and property management.
Strather also serves as President and CEO of Strather Academy, a licensed real estate investing school focused on training the next generation of urban developers. He is a board member of the Detroit Economic Club and has been a guest lecturer at Cornerstone University. In 2009 he registered as a lobbyist in Florida for “Other Gambling Industries,” representing Lake Fron, Inc. (Ocala Jai‑Alai), and in 2007 he communicated with the Bureau of Indian Affairs regarding a gaming operation in Alpine, California.
