Dr. Giovanni Cunti is the Chief Executive Officer of Gate’s European operations, leading the regulated expansion of the Gate.io cryptocurrency exchange across Europe. He drove the acquisition of the MiCAR license and the Payment Institution license under PSD2 from the Malta Financial Services Authority for Gate Technology Ltd. He represents the firm at major iGaming and digital finance conferences such as SiGMA and Paris Blockchain Week.
With more than 28 years of executive experience in top-tier technology and financial services companies globally, Cunti has been at the forefront of innovation in crypto and blockchain. He holds a doctorate in Physics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and an MBA from London Business School. His current focus includes securing regulatory approvals and expanding Gate's footprint in the European market.
While primarily active in digital assets, Cunti’s role at Gate Europe intersects with the iGaming industry through crypto payment solutions and conference participation. He has been recognized in media as a key voice on crypto regulation in Europe, including in interviews with SiGMA World and appearances at the NextGen Payments & RegTech Forum.
