Felix Kwakye Ofosu

Felix Kwakye Ofosu (born 10 May 1982) is a Ghanaian politician and lawyer. He holds a BSc from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2009) and an MSc from the University of Dundee, Scotland (2011), after which he entered public service.

He served as Deputy Information Minister under President John Dramani Mahama from approximately 2013 to 2017, gaining experience in government communications. In the 2024 general election he won the parliamentary seat for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Following the NDC’s return to power in January 2025, he was appointed Minister of State in charge of Government Communication and officially designated as the President’s spokesperson.

In his role as government spokesperson, he has publicly addressed the taxation of sports betting winnings, characterising the former government’s 10% withholding tax as a burden on low‑income bettors and arguing that gambling offers solace to many unemployed Ghanaians. His comments place him as a key voice in the country’s gambling policy debate, though he is a government official rather than a private‑sector industry executive.
