Dr Kanishka Weeramunda is an award‑winning business leader, entrepreneur and fintech ecosystem builder with a long track record in digital innovation, policy advisory and startup development. He has played a pivotal role in shaping Sri Lanka’s digital economy as the founder of PayMedia and DirectPay, driving digital transformation and the adoption of modern solutions. He has received numerous Entrepreneur of the Year, Best CEO, and Future Leader awards.
He serves on the Board of Directors of FinTech Forum Sri Lanka and as Entrepreneur in Residence at SquareHub, where he supports startups through community building and mentorship. In 2025, he was also appointed Country Partner for Sri Lanka at SDG Impact Partners, focusing on impact finance and capital mobilisation. He has been a featured speaker at SiGMA South Asia, discussing fintech’s role in the iGaming sector.
