Dr Aftab Rizvi

Dr Aftab Rizvi is an internationally recognised iGaming compliance and regulatory advisor with over 25 years of experience in iGaming compliance, audits, regulatory frameworks, and cybersecurity. He is the founder of Gaming Associates, an accredited test lab approved in over 55 jurisdictions. He co-authored Australia’s first technical standards for online gaming systems for the Department of Treasury, Northern Territory, and conducted the first regulatory testing of an online system. Dr Rizvi has played a key role in shaping regulatory frameworks for jurisdictions such as Alderney and Denmark, and has advised regulators in Portugal and Kahnawake.

In North America, his team has conducted testing for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and supported the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) through conformity assessments of licensees. His expertise includes drafting technical requirements, compliance policies, and implementing global standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR, and NDB. He is a strong advocate for the use of artificial intelligence in compliance assessments.

Dr Rizvi holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (completed before the internet became mainstream) and is a recipient of the (ISC)² Information Security Leadership Award (ISLA). His certifications include CISSP, CISA, CRISC, PCI QSA, and IRAP Assessor. He currently serves as Chairman of The Associates Group, CEO of Risk Associates, and founder of Gaming Associates.
