Daniel Negreanu is a Canadian professional poker player widely recognized as one of the most accomplished and popular figures in the game. Born on July 26, 1974, in Toronto, Ontario, he turned professional in the late 1990s and quickly made a name for himself with his charismatic personality and exceptional ability to read opponents.

Over his career, Negreanu has won eight World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets and two World Poker Tour (WPT) championship titles. He was named WSOP Player of the Year in 2004 and again in 2013, making him the only player to earn that honor multiple times. He also claimed the WPT Player of the Year award for the 2004–2005 season. In 2014, he was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of poker's all-time greats.

Negreanu currently serves as the lead ambassador for GGPoker, the online poker platform, a role he stepped into in 2019 after a 12-year tenure as a PokerStars ambassador. He is known for his extensive charitable work within the poker community and remains an active competitor. As of 2025, he ranks seventh on the all-time live tournament money list with over $56.9 million in career cashes.
