Christopher Formosa

Christopher Formosa is the Deputy CEO and Chief Operations Officer of the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the regulatory body overseeing Malta’s iGaming and gambling sector. In this capacity he is responsible for the overall management and development of the Authority’s Human Resources and Operations functions, playing a key role in the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the regulator.

Formosa began his career as an Executive Secretary within the local public sector before rising through the ranks to join the senior leadership team at the MGA. His trajectory demonstrates a deep understanding of regulatory operations and a commitment to public service, culminating in his current position where he helps shape the future of Malta’s gaming industry.

Beyond his executive duties, Formosa is actively involved in industry outreach. He regularly hosts students from MCAST’s iGaming Diploma course, providing first-hand insight into regulatory leadership and decision-making, and serves as a bridge between the regulator and the broader gaming community.
