
Charmaine Hogan is Playtech's lead executive for global government relations and regulatory affairs, overseeing the company's engagement with policymakers and regulators worldwide. She is also frequently referred to as Global Head of Regulatory Affairs, reflecting her central role in shaping Playtech's regulatory strategy across multiple jurisdictions.
Hogan began her career in Brussels, first advising the Maltese government on EU affairs before spending six years as a seconded national expert at the European Commission, where she specialized in gambling policy. During her tenure at the Commission, she was a key member of the Expert Group on Gambling Services, focusing on regulatory convergence, consumer protection, and cross-border compliance.
She moved to the private sector as International Development Manager at bet365, a role she held for approximately two and a half years before joining Playtech in 2019 as Head of Regulatory Affairs. Hogan was subsequently promoted to Global Head of Regulatory Affairs and then to Global Head of Government Relations, guiding the company's market access in newly regulating jurisdictions such as Ontario, Brazil, Chile, and Peru.
Beyond Playtech, Hogan serves as a board member of the International Gaming Standards Association (IGSA) and the Canadian Gaming Association, where she is recognized as a leading advocate for evidence-based regulation and high safer-gambling standards across the industry.
