Bob Iger

Robert Alan "Bob" Iger (born February 10, 1951, in New York City) is an American media executive who earned a BS from Ithaca College. He began his career at ABC in 1972 and rose through the ranks to become president of ABC from 1994 to 1995 and president and COO of Capital Cities/ABC from 1995 to 1996.
After Disney acquired Capital Cities/ABC in 1996, Iger was named president of The Walt Disney Company in 2000. He served as CEO from 2005 to 2020, then returned for a second term from 2022 to 2026. During his tenure, he oversaw major acquisitions including Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox, and launched Disney+. He also led Disney's entry into sports betting with the ESPN BET partnership in 2023.
Since March 2026, Iger has served as an advisor to Thrive Capital, a venture capital firm, marking a shift away from operating roles in media and entertainment.
