
Billy Wailand serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at GCI, a role he assumed in January 2021. He leads strategic negotiations with major customers, vendors, and telecom partners, and heads cross‑departmental initiatives to develop and implement long‑term strategies for GCI’s statewide network.
Wailand joined GCI in 2014, first as Associate General Counsel and later as Vice President of Corporate Development, bringing over 15 years of business and legal experience to the company. Before GCI, he was a law partner at Feldman Orlansky & Sanders, a law clerk for Justice Dana Fabe of the Alaska Supreme Court, and an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York.
He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. His career has focused on telecommunications, corporate development, and regulatory strategy.
